Billings Montana Newest brand – Montana’s Trailhead
So Billings Montana launched a few weeks ago a brand that is suppose to help Billings gather tourist and people’s interest is visiting the Magic City, another name for Billings. The brand has been in the works for awhile now. In fact, it’s been in the works for at least two years with a product that involves everyone. This is how I see it.
Well, that was the intention of the Brand. To include what Billings Montana has to offer the world, nationally, and those locally. From the western adventures from horseback riding, to cowboy cookouts to leasure travel in and around the State of Montana, I had to stop and think about the brand name and it’s unveiling as an out of state tourist and as a local resident.
I’ve sat in on some of the meetings, I can assure the masses that the Chamber of Commerce (who is leading the way) and local businesses in Billings have tried to include every business not to leave out anyone for any type of reason. As Montana is remembered as the Big Sky Country in the West, I’d like to propose a few ideas of my own, but that can wait. However, I’m sure other news agency’s like the Yellowstone County News in Huntley, MT will add something as the local weekly newspaper covers news and latest information in the Yellowstone County, which includes Billings.
Now, for the record, I like the brand. It does cover the majority of Billings and nearby attractions like Yellowstone National Park (1 1/2 hours away West), Pompey’s Pillar National Monument (25 minutes East) and/or Battle of the Little Bighorn National Monument, known as Custer’s Battlefield (which is an hour Southeast). However, as Billings Montana is the biggest city in Montana and Central to Montana’s commerce, I’ve heard from others that guest have to go out of town to do anything fun related to Montana.

Well, I do have to agree that Montana (who is the 4th largest state in the United States) is pretty spread apart, However, there are things for guest to do right here in Billings that needs to be public knowledge, (in my opinion).
Now I could be naive or something, but I just don’t think the general public is informed enough about what is offered in Billings. For Example, have you heard of Pappy’s Cowboy Cookout or Happy Pappy’s Holdup? Well, these western adventures are provided for those who live right here in Billings and for those who are visiting from out of town or state. These two activities are provided to the masses for fun adventures to experience in Billings. In fact, the Pappy’s Cowboy Cookout is only about 15 minutes from downtown Billings! Yep, that’s right. Located off Interstate 90 and Pryor Creek Road, exit #462. At this location, there are horseback rides also provided for those wanting to experience the West. Guest or locals in Billings MT don’t have to leave and go out of town but stay right in Billings, stay another day and enjoy the many options Western Romance Company has to offer. These events are adventurous, not for the inactive. If inactive things are what brings guest to Billings, might I suggest other museums like the Huntley Project Museum for starters.
Now Billings has a lot of history behind it and the geography is sometimes amazing, it also has the Yellowstone River that meanders through and the Biggest Airport (Billings International airport) in Montana. So why send people out of Billings. We want to retain guest, visitors and locals to see what they have in their own backyard. Now this is only my opinion and it is a little biased, but I’d rather get to the masses about outdoor things to do right here in Billings instead of spending money to send people other places.
In fact, it order to help the image of the Billings Brand; I’d like to offer a picture of Happy Pappy, or Pappy (who is as authentic as they come) or better yet. Or maybe even this! I’d be happy to a get modern picture of me on a horse (in my cowboy western attire of course) overlooking Billings to help with the image along one of the trails I ride. That is where I think the Billings image should be, but I know I’m biased as I help run Western Romance Company (now you see where I’m going).
Anyhow, maybe the majority of Billings just doesn’t know about Pappy’s Cowboy Cookout, Happy Pappy’s Holdup, and Horseback rides that are offered right here in Billings. therefore, my job is to inform all hoteliers, convention centers, other events, and locals about this company. Save some gas, time, and money by checking out what Pappy and Western Romance Company can do. I think the more Pappy’s Cowboy Cookout, Happy Pappy’s Holdup and events like this are known locally and nationally, Billings will become more of a destination than just a quick stop off location. But that’s my own opinion and it’s free at this time.
